Dave Brundage is the Founder of Black Cat Lodge located up on the Cumberland Plateau in Eastern Tennessee. Black Cat Lodge is a transitional living facility that provides a real-life approach to relapse prevention. Dave teaches addicts to trust themselves and become self-sufficient - perhaps for the first time.
The concept of Black Cat Lodge is certainly not a traditional approach to getting sober, it is Dave's own unique way that has proven to be effective as he applies the principles of a 12 step program through real life experiences. Dave just opened his lodge and so far he has transformed the lives of all 8 people who have been there. When Dave was in rehab, he realized that the treatment of addiction through a traditional rehab program is essential, however, it does not thoroughly prepare people to live with the strength, self worth and love they must have to live a healthy and prosperous life.
His 155 acre wilderness experience is the perfect platform for those seeking nature, wilderness and spirituality that allows individuals the freedom to connect to their higher power. For 33 years Dave was able to hide his pain from his childhood trauma through sports, where he was a gifted athlete earning a football and baseball scholarship to Hillsdale College in Michigan where he graduated in 1985. Now he is ready to share his life lessons with others who are afraid and don’t know how to do it alone. Dave lives at his lodge where he is able to guide and prepare individuals on a 24/7 basis
